Teaching Innovation Mini Grant Applications for Fall 2025 are open. Applicants are asked to describe how specific teaching strategies or experiences will motivate and ignite student engagement to improve learning outcomes in the classroom. Faculty who received a mini-grant within the last academic year are not eligible to apply. (Application deadline is April 15, 2025.)

The Seventh Annual Fall First Week provides time for colleges and schools to meet, engage with campus resources, and learn from one another’s expertise as we prepare for the academic year ahead. Fall First Week will house all professional development sessions in a half-day Educators’ Retreat on Wednesday, August 13th. The Center for Faculty Development also will host workshops from August 5th to August 8th in our Prepare, Plan, and Engage series that will include sessions focused on strategies, tools, and innovative ideas that will help guide your preparation for your fall courses.  The Office of the Provost and the Center for Faculty Development invite faculty and staff to submit proposals for our summer series, Prepare, Plan, and Engage and the Fall First Week. (Application deadline is May 19, 2025.)

AI Conversations Banner

This spring, the Å·²©ÓéÀÖ³Ç Artificial Intelligence Taskforce, the Office of the Provost, and the Center for Faculty Development are collaborating to host a series of panels and guest speakers—both from Å·²©ÓéÀÖ³Ç and beyond—to advance discussions on the impact of artificial intelligence at Å·²©ÓéÀÖ³Ç and in higher education nationwide.

Artificial Intelligence Training Available

This spring, several AI training courses are available from the University and the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (). 

A badge for each course will be awarded in Canvas for the satisfactory completion of course work with a 70% or higher on quizzes and a "Completion" mark for written discussion responses. Written discussion responses must show thoughtful content addressing the question(s). Registration for and completion of these courses is on a voluntary, self-paced basis. No fee is attached.
